Ford Product Development Center Event
« on: October 03, 2020, 10:00:53 AM »
This past Thursday I took part at a special event at the Ford Product Development Center. THe center is being torn down to make way for a new complex. On display were cars from model year 1955 through 2021, that were all designed there. Jim Farley , new CEO of Ford, talked to each and every car owner. Ford also interviewed each car owner to create a video log of the event for the Ford archives. Was really cool to be part of history! Here is a link from a local TV station about the event. https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2020/10/01/gathering-of-iconic-ford-cars-is-last-hurrah-for-dearborn-product-development-center/

That is AWESOME!!! I caught the back end of your wagon (blue arrow) but also in the same frame the second generation Turbo Coupe (red arrow) right down to being red like mine. The T/C became the donor car for my (turbo) Pinto wagon.

Here is an article done by Hagerty. A great pic of my Pinto and me in the courtyard with PDC Showroom in the background. https://www.hagerty.com/media/events/ford-closes-a-historic-chapter-with-one-last-car-show/

Thanks for sharing, Dave.

Sad to lose such an iconic Ford location, but I suppose progress marches on.  Actually, it's rather amazing that it survived this long!

Great picture of your gorgeous Pinto too!

A great piece of history to have been a part of. Now your car is worth $10,000 more because of pedigree.
