Post by: flash041 on January 21, 2012, 08:47:32 PM
Last night I was talking with my wife about the color green in  the 70's and how many green cars and other things I grew up with.We had a boat and camping trailer we painted green along with green cars, 72 Chevy pickup,73 Mercury Comet, 73 Ford full size wagon,79 Horizon. And of an Avacado green kitchen. Tonight I dug up the pics and found one with me at age 13, in the kitchen, with a Pinto model!!

Very cool!  ;D

While I was growing up, we had a neighbor next door who had a light metallic green four-door Comet ('70s Merc version of the Maverick) and the daughter had a silver Mustang II I loved.

70s colors were great.  I'm a huge fan of the stripes and decals.  I also have to agree with the 70s shades of green being great on cars.  Never liked vinyl roofs though.

my 71 was a dark green metallic.  avocado green should be restricted to avocados!

I wag digging through an old filing cabinet and came across two pics of my 75 Squire!

avocado kitchens made me thousands of dollars in the 70's I install ceramic tile. I took out pink and yellow tile and installed that beautiful avocado green.  In the 90's I made thousands or dollars tearing out that ugly avocado green and installed beige.  The popularity of green comes and goes. But the green color of the dollar is always in fashon.
