« on: September 17, 2016, 08:18:36 AM »
In Nine months my wife and I will be heading out in the Cruising Wagon on an epic Pinto road trip from Wisconsin to Prudhoe Bay Alaska! We will be going through North Dakota , Montana, then north to Dawson Creek B C. Then on the Alcan through British Columbia and the Yukon to Alaska.Return tip will be through Juneau , Prince Rupert BC, Spokane WA . If there are any members in Alaska or along that route let em know. We would love to meet you!

I rode to Prudhoe Bay on my BMW from Saskatchewan. It was a fantastic trip. I hear most of the road is paved now. We went in late June as the ice is mostly breaking up on the lakes.
The north side of Atigun pass is like another world.

One week to go !!!! Dick the cruise control I put in is a Dakota Digital unit. It works great! I will post a separate post on it when I get back from the trip. I will be changing oil and packing the car this weekend.

I REALLY wish pictures showed normal here....

Some Mountains he will be driving by on the Banff Jasper HWY, about 65+ miles south of Jasper. Columbia Icefield area.
Mt. Althabasca

Near the summit on one of my climbs.

Athabasca Glacier one winter day.

This one is a night shot out my bedroom window of the camp I ran for Parks Canada.
Mt. Kitchener (FYI - the ice on top is over 500 ft. thick)

If you wish to see them bigger, click the white box so they are bigger.

Then right click and "save as" to your desk top or a picture file.
You will then be able to open them & see full sized.

After about 10,500 miles we have made it back home! the only repair required, replace a headlight! We made it up the Dalton Highway to the Arctic Ocean in Prudhoe Bay, 250 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Thes fall/winter I will put together Utube videos of our adventure.  The most northern Pinto in the World!!

Glad to hear that you made it safely home from your Alaskan Adventure! Out of curiosity, did you have any trouble finding a replacement headlight? I don't know if Auto Zones are as plentiful in Alaska as they seem to be in the lower 48!

No other Pinto People, but lots of car people. We were a rolling one car, car show! We did get invited by the Antique Mushers to take part in the Anchorage 4th of July Parade. After the parade we also got invited to their club picnic . We also attended the Wasilla Centennial  Car Show. Also a community  Car Show in Skagway !
