Aftermarket seats
« on: February 13, 2012, 08:18:04 PM »
Anyone found anything that works well in these cars as far as aftermarket seating goes? My stock seats were trashed when I got the car so I replaced them with Procar lowbacks. I like the look of the seats in the car and have been weekend driving it with these seats for about 5yrs now since I've owned the car. The problem with the seats though is that they are so high profile, they're thick enough on the base that I've got to have the seats reclined a lot to fit in the car and from day one they just haven't quite fit right. Now I am no small guy (6'5" 300+lbs) so ideally I'd be sitting down almost directly on the floor but with the width available down there (about 17") there seems to be limited options in the seating dept. I took a job commuting about 80 miles down to Sacramento and back every day and would love to start driving the Pinto daily but the seats would drive me crazy. I've been looking into an aluminum racing seat but I hate the idea of the seat not being adjustable or tiltable. Anyone used any other alternatives with any luck?

I need new ones as well.

Though, not yet. Have to get other things done first.
