« on: September 27, 2003, 01:45:56 AM »

Yesterday , I picked up a 73 runabout from the 2nd owner, nice car, I opened the hood a there was a 1600cc  engine. I thought they stoped putting those in 1972 modles? ??? ???

No, in 72 the "standard" motor was still the 1600 and the 2.0 was still an option. In 73 there ware no 1600s.

They may have let a few 1600 be built at the beginning of a model year to clear up stock in the plant, it still happens today!  We built a few 2004 Marauaders with 2003 engines (4 i think it was with the black valve covers, 2004 have silver ones) If it is a factory car, consider it rare if they say none were built!
