73 or 74?

I need to see some pictures of the back end of a 73 and of a 74, I'm new to pintos and trying to figure out the year of the one i just bought, manufacture date is 08/73

How tall are the bumpers?

I THINK in 74 they went to bigger ones, so if yours are like less than 3" tall it is a 73, if like 5", it is a 74.

I might be wrong with the date of the change, but if it has the smaller ones, 73 for sure.

The first number of your VIN (vehicle identification number) has a 3 or 4.  That is all you need to go by.  Everything can be changed.

Enter your VIN number in the decoder . tells you all about that stuff.

1973 had the skinny bumpers, 1974 was the first year for the big bumpers.  The '74s also have the bumpers farther out from the grille and rear valance than the early ones.
