Hi everyone huge Pinto Fun here and looking to buy this. Its up for auction. Anyone know how many of these were made? It has 27,000 original miles. Any idea on collector value? Thanks!!

Not sure how many 1972 Squire wagons were built. I have one and when I bought it in 2012 it was a one-owner example with 68000 documented original miles. Mine is the 2.0 liter engine with automatic transmission. I paid $4000 for it. Have no idea how prices may have fluctuated since then. Good luck!

We value our Pinto's because WE love them, not because they have broader appeal and collector value of say..., a '69 Camaro or a '57 Chevy Nomad. So, buy it because YOU want it, not to consider it an "investment."
The market value of a Pinto is tied to "want." The same car YOU were willing to pay $6,000 might not sell for half that some time later. I'd concur with Dwayne that the $4,000 price is a decent price for a car in such good condition as the one in the pictures. That doesn't mean that it can't sell for a lot more because some else wants it more than the next guy.
The collector car hobby has a broader range of buyers today. A lot of (older) people are inheriting from their parents or selling off assets like rental properties for that last run at life before they encounter limited mobility or expire. Nostalgia has its price and the ceiling is directly tied to the heart of the buyer.
