luggage rack sedan vs wagon
« on: January 05, 2014, 07:02:03 PM »
Does anyone know if Ford made a sedan/runabout specific luggage rack or is the station wagon luggage rack interchangeabl e. Specifically, I have a '74 station wagon luggage rack and wondering if it could fit a '72 sedan. Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

You shouldn't have any problems mounting the rack on the roof. You can cut them down to make it fit if you need to. the bars are hollow. Thanks Chester

measure the length...take into consideration the curvature of the roof
the only substitute for cubic inches is BOOST!!!

have one of each and by just looking from car to car they look different at the mounting brackets the hatch-sedan is way more curved and the wagon looks more flat, but good luck!!

thanks

I too would bet the curvature of the footing pieces would need to be more curved on the sedan roof. I have wagon one and the feet are pretty close to flat both ends.

Thanks for the reponses.
I have a wagon rack and just carefully placed it on my sedan roof and it looks like the curvature would not work.
Thanks

While we're on the topic of roof racks, has anyone used a rack off of a different vehicle from a junkyard, like an SUV or van? I have tossed the idea around, but the good junk yards are a good ways away from me, so making the drive just to investigate such an idea is a little prohibitive.
