Hello, new member...long time lurker
« on: March 04, 2017, 03:23:48 PM »
Hi All,
I finally broke down and registered (maybe I shouldn't have used the term broke down here, but my dad is a retired Ford engineer so I can say that, lol).

As a kid my parents had a Pinto Squire Wagon, but I do remember it was a 1972, kind of a yellow-gold color with a darker colored interior with houndstooth seat covers.

It was an automatic and my mom mostly drove it. I recall one time when I was fighting with my sister in the back seat, mom threatened to pull over if we didn't behave...and sure enough she did pull over on a busy street and moments later a policeman stopped and asked if everything was okay? lol

Anyways over the years I have looked for another one just like it or similar but it has just never happened for various reasons....you never know someday maybe...

My dream would be to find another wagon and take it the V8 or turbo route.

I have attached the only picture that exists of that Pinto, it was taken in 1978 and the quality is fading.

The car in the front is a brand new 1978 Ford Fiesta which was my dad's replacement for the Pinto so it was gone shortly after.

Sadly living in Michigan the Winter salt took it's toll on the little car to the point which you could see through the bottom of the doors while sitting in the back seat, and the car became unsafe due to rust.

I never did get to drive the Pinto but still have many fond memories so I thought I would join up here.

Thanks for having me.
Paul

Welcome!  Other than the houndstooth upholstery (mine is all vinyl), I have the exact same car!  Before you ask, no, it is not for sale.  I hope you'll find the Pinto you're looking for.
