2012 Ford Product Development Center Employee car show
« on: July 26, 2012, 10:37:02 PM »
I was invited to the 2012 Ford Product Development Employee Car Show in Dearborn MI on Friday July 20th 2012.I drove there Thursday. The show was 6:30am to 1:30pm.This years theme was wagons.I along with with fellow "Loser" Julie with her 59 Edsel wagon , were chosen to be part of the 13 car feature display. The show is in its 20th year and there were about 400 cars there. They were mostly Fords , but there was also Gm,Amc/Chrylser, and import classes. The highlight of the day for me was when a woman, with her two young sons, walked up to my car overcome with emotion, literally in tears. She was from Oahu where her mom had a Cruising Wagon. She remembers her mom piling a bunch of kids in the back and how much she loved the carpeted walls. She asked her kids to stand next to the car so she could take a pitcure . When the kids asked why, she said "when gramma sees it, she will cry too" There were four Pintos Jim's 79 wagon, a 72 trunk, 75 Squire,78 Cruising Wagon and one 78 Bobcat.

Jim,

Sorry I couldn't make it. I ran into problems with the house and couldn't get out. I love your Cruising Wagon,  it's beautiful. That is what mine is headed for. I have a company getting ready to make new stripes and all that. All I need to do is put in new carpet, paint the exterior silver, and add stripes. After seeing your car, now I'm getting truly impatient!!!

So much eye candy! Mmmmm... I wished Ruby and I could've been there.

One can never have too many Pintos!
