20% ethanol - cash for clunkers
« on: February 13, 2021, 06:13:58 PM »
What happens when our new President and his Dem governors bump up the ethanol to 20% at the pump and they out law fuel additives ?
In NYS Gov Cuomo is working on a "Cash for Clunkers Bill" - part of it is if you inspection expires and you need to renew your registration - you cant get the new registration until the car is inspected and meets all relevant pollution standards.
   What then -

Been there, seen that. The government back about 15 years ago was offering something like up to a $4,500 tax incentive to buy a new car.  Not sure that it didn't help the relatively well off get a great deal on a new car then it did help keep the factory worker with a job. Here in So. Cal. the self serve U-Pick Parts had so many cars they had to stack them on end. The "trade-in" cars were required to be junked. They had glass run thorough the engines and the yards weren't allowed to sell driveline parts off them.

The federal Cash for Clunkers program caused Ford Explorers to all but vanish off the streets and used market. CA smog laws are designed in part to get old cars off the road as it is.

They want everyone to drive electric cars, then cry about not getting the fuel road tax and propose a registration road tax that everyone with a car has to pay and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Only 47 months to go...
