2.3 head is different from an 2.0, the intake sides are different!! will need a 2.3 intake to use that head.

Hmmmm. Why do you say that? Haha  my 84 ranger that the motor just blew up on has a 2.3 but my 2.0 headers been on it for awhile...? It bolted right up.. and i checked the bolt spacein with a tape and it looks like itll fit.. might havto drill a couple new holes?

What they are trying to say is that 1973 model Pintos came with the 1.6L or the 2.0L 4 cylinder motors. The 2.3L 4 cylinder wasn't introduced until the 1974 model (the same 2.3L motor used in Rangers).

That being said, there are no 2.3L parts, aside from the air filter, that will interchange with pre-74 model Pinto motors. Not to sure how your 2.0 headers, that you have on the ranger, are mounted, but I'm sure we would all like to see! Perhaps they were advertised incorrectly? (Just a guess)

Unless your 73 Pinto's 2.0 was swapped out for a 2.3, you won't be able to use the 2.3 head on your 73. They are of completely different configuration.

Well if i use the intake off of my 2.3 ranger... then thatll be ok right? The 2.3 head will still bolt to the 2.0 block... correct?

2.3 liter head will not bolt onto the 2.0 block. they are completely different motors. the 2.3 head will only bolt onto the 2.3 liter block from oct of 73 when the 2.3 liter first came out being sold as 74 model year pinto..hope that helps.

Apparently the cam followers interchange but that seems to be the ONLY PARTS THAT DO.

The Ranger 2.0L is an underbored 2.3L. The Pinto 2.0L is unique to the Pinto, also called the 2.0L EAO. Parts do not interchange.
