EssMan79:
I own a 1979 Pinto ESS my mom bought brand-new back in 79' she always told me the guy at the dealership told her it was 1-of-100 ever made I was woundering if thi is true because I cant find any info about ESS's anywhere

The car failed inspection back in 97' it needed tirod ends and my dad wouldnt pay to have it fixed because he never liked the car and said it wasen't worth it but I talked him into not getting rid of it and I'm 18 now and was thinking of restoring it but wanted to find some things out first because I already have kind of a project its a 70'chevelle 350ci" but want a toy.

So if anyone has any info on it I'd like to hear about it

You can e-mail me at CumfortblyNumb 1@aol.com
               THANK-YOU

The ESS package cars would be hard to tell exactally how many were made becouse it was an option in 79 and 80 that either the dealer ordered and had on the lot or you could order it as an option in 79 for about $ 260 or 80 for about $300. So , depending on how many option cars were built "to order" you would really not know. Sorry I cant help more.

TurboPinto72 thank you for the info thats more then I knew about the car before. Now all I want to know is it worth restoring or should I just put a 302" in it or something , basically all I need to know is it worth more original or not, and what the value of the car would be around ?

   THANK YOU.

I'm no expert on car value but I think when it comes to a pinto they are worth some where between 0-and priceless. Just about anyone can see the value of your chevelle. It takes a special person to see the value of a pinto. Mine is priceless. I live for thoses days when I meet some one who says," what beatuiful you have I was a fool when I sold mine." Restore it any way that makes you happy. keep one more fine machine on the road and out of the junk yard.
Best Wishes
