As a Mustang owner when I see anything related to Pinto as a 'muscle car' I have to read it...
This isn't intended to insult anyone - it's just that I never viewed a Pinto of any year as a muscle car... Hard to do with a 2000 or 2200 cc engine... although my first car was a '74 Capri that had a 2000cc engine - a single header - a Weber carb... it could chirp 2nd? !

Well Pinto and muscle car don't belong in the same sentence because the Pinto was never designed to be a muscle car, so that should be a clue that the idiots that write this stuff don't have a clue about any kind of car including a true muscle car. I've read some of their nonsense lol

Have to agree with you on the way this was writen , most of these are brain dead articles done by some computor geeks that do not have a clue about cars , they were not even born yet when the muscle cars came about , no facts at all and worse yet they are people that would believe it was the truth , Bottom line is they are a perfect choice to work at CNN .

Wow, I was tempted to write about every error but I didn't want to spend my whole day doing so. Cars that were NEVER Muscle cars, wrong pictures of the cars etc. That said, since it is Pinto related, I'll deal with this statement:
"... the King Cobra was a Pinto with Ford badging." Do they think Pinto was a brand and Ford "Badge Engineered" the Pinto brand into a King Cobra? Crazy! Once you get to 1974 the Pinto (always a Ford) it was basically a Mustang II with alterations to mount the Pinto body. So, in half a sentence they got three things wrong.
If this was a site that was not car related I'd just laugh it off and move on. But when the site is car related you have to question the lack of journalistic integrity to posting such error! I'm going to award the Most Ridiculous Statement to the one regarding the 1976-1980 Plymouth Volare/Road Runner.
"... it was sporting the 426 Hemi engine and had 160 horsepower." The Hemi was LONG GONE by 1976 and when it did exist it wasn't limited to 160 horsepower.

If you read that "BrakeForIt" garbage carefully, it becomes readily apparent it was written by foreigners. The sentence structure, misinformation, and odd choices of vocabulary are similar to what's found in those spam emails we all get, trying to scam us into giving up personal information. They were either written by people with a rudimentary grasp of the English language, or written in a foreign language and then electronically translated for publication. There are a lot of such articles online, covering any number of topics. At best they are good for a laugh!

along that vein is the very reason i dont watch any of those fix em up and flip em car shows any more .. several years ago fast and loud was building a 66 fairlane GT and the master mechanic aron somebody noted that all GT fairlanes came with the big block 289 engine ..

The problem is dumb people who assume any car built in America between 1964 and hell....let's say 1980 is a "muscle car". It's stimulus generalization . I mean....look at the 1976 Smokey And The Bandit Trans Am, which everybody seems to think is a muscle car. That thing had a 455 in it that made........20 0 horsepower. So, given that....sure.. ..why not. My Pinto has a small block V8 that makes more power to the wheels than the 1976 Trans Am made at the crank. And that's before I spray it. I guess the cure is to correct them.

EXACTLY! It reads very much like it came from a content mill. Many of the people who work for content mills are unskilled labor in India and have no knowledge of the topic nor really any English writing ability. It's not about generation gaps or computer geeks; it's about making a product (article) as quickly and cheaply as possible with no regard for quality....and sprinkling it with a little clickbait for good measure. ("Worst X," You won't believe X," etc.)
Once you've done it yourself it becomes very easy to spot. I tried freelancing for a content mill briefly back in ~2009 when everyone was losing their jobs and houses. It's a disgusting industry and I could go into detail about how and why if anyone really wants to know.
Fun Fact: The website wikihow was built that way and may still be. Typical pay for those kinds of articles was about $0.0025-0.004/word.

Even the v8 converted Pintos aren't muscle cars because they weren't factory designed as one, just hot rods or rat rods. But I've seen some real nicely done ones that could embarrass a lot of "muscle cars".
