$1500 for two Pintos in Pendleton Oregon
« on: January 18, 2009, 09:00:15 PM »
On my drive to Spokane last week I stopped in Pendleton for a rest and some snacks. While driving through town I noted a little green '74 Runabout with a damaged fender sitting in a car lot. I spun around to take a look and here's what I found!

He is asking for $1500 for both cars together. He drove the green one across state and said that it still gets GREAT gas mileage and runs flawlessly, but the interior could use a little work. It's all there though! One of his roadside signs was hit by a drunk driver one night and the sign ended up falling on the little guy's driver side fender, smashing it downward.

The red '73 is not running, and was being modified for racing by some kid he had sold it to previously, but they lost interest in it. It has the Pinto aluminum mags, an 8" rear end, different seats, but the driver's side windows (both quarter and door) are broken. The steering wheel has been changed as well. This one would have to be towed.

EDIT: The green one has factory A/C. a 4cyl and automatic transmission.

Here is the contact information off his business card:

Now, he offered them to me for $1200, but told me to advertise as $1500, so you most likely can talk him down!

Those two are beauties! Right now I'm crying inside  :'( because there's a dark green metallic '75 Runabout in San Diego on ebay that's going for cheap and I haven't enough funds right now! Waaaaa! I hope the winning bidder is in the PCCA!
One can never have too many Pintos!

Yeah. I really want to get the red one since I could really use the 8" rear and I really want the mag wheels. :(

As for the green one, it is identical to a '74 Runabout in a salvage yard here in Idaho. Color, features, EVERYTHING. If my dad really wanted it, we could pull the fender off the one at the junk yard and it'd be in great shape again!

Also, the green one has factory A/C as well!
