Yukon cut to fit rear axles-thoughts?
« on: October 14, 2018, 12:15:25 AM »
Found these on Summit's site.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/yga-21410
They are listed for the 79 8inch Pinto rear.
Thinking it might be better/easier to go with new axles instead of getting the old ones welded/redrilled.
Just not familiar with the cut to fit option.
Seems Yukon is a decent source overall.
Thanks,
Russ

Done that back in the late 70s Russ , they did not have much of a larger wheel for the pinto , used maverick axles , remember that I had to cut one side a 1/4 inch , later used granda axles and front rotors , the last one I helped a friend and he found that 84 to 86 ranger axles would fit with no mods , drums were used also , yep the ranger used the same shoes as the pinto along with the same wheel bearings , it was all bolt together , guess you can pull one axle at a time and bring it to a yard to match up if you know someone there , then there is the Bronco II also , just don’t like the idea of a 10 inch long spline and at 200 bucks a pop that 400 and you don’t have bearings yet , the yard here charges 10 to 15 an axle , much cheaper
