I can match up 6 of the wires by color code, but I cant figure out the other 4 wires. Is there a write up for splicing the 71 plug to a 75 turn signal switch and harness. All help appreciated.

I swapped out my '73 Pinto column for my '88 Turbo Coupe column. In the process I had to trace down the wires. Here are my notes (use at your own risk) Maybe this will help though I'm not sure if the '71 and '73 used the same color code and if those colors changed after the connector. I did notice that even 15 years later a fair amount of the color code was the same for the '73 and '88 columns.

Curved connector

Black/pink - I have noted that it is activates the key buzzer, not sure beyond that

Light Green - I have as brakes with a question mark???

Blue - I have as the radio in the accessory position.

Orange/blue - I have as passenger rear

Green/red - I have a drivers rear

White/red - I have as flashers/emergency

Yellow/blue - I have as hot full time for the horn and emergency flashers

Dark Blue - I have as the horn

White/blue - I have as Passenger front

Light Green/white I have as drivers front

Maybe that will help though I'm not sure if the '71 and '73 used the same color code and if those colors changed after the connector.

Rectangular, black connector

Purple/white - Brake warning

Black/green (thick) - Accessory

Red/blue - Start

Red/green - Run

Yellow (thick) 12 volt in

Black - I have "all small lights" but don't recall the meaning

According to the wiring diagrams I have, the 71 and 75 Pinto turn signal switch wire colors should be near identical, not sure about the plugs.  Both years show a total of 9 wires.  After 40 years, the wire colors tend fade and/or shift color some.

LG-W:  LH dash turn indicator
LG-W:  LH front turn light
LG-O:   LH rear turn/stop light, (early 71's used LB-O, this is only difference found between early 71 and late 71 & 75)
