Wrenches in DFW
« on: February 17, 2015, 08:52:54 PM »
I just inherited a 1978 Wagon in great shape with 43k original miles. I would like to get a lot of items replaced and make it a daily driver.  I'm hoping someone in the DFW area would be willing to make a little $$ on the side.  I know I can take to a local shop, but I would rather someone who knows these cars do the work.  I purchased a service manual for it, and I have most of the tools I need to do it myself.  The truth is I travel a lot for work and just don't have the time or patience to do it myself.
Thank you for the suggestions and help

Birdiegolf8:

I'm just Northeast of Dallas in the suburbs, working on a full restoration of a '76 wagon, and I have a buddy who has an original '78 trunk that he drives daily, and his Mom bought brand new back in the day. Send me a note - maybe we can all hook up!

thanks for the advice.  I'm currently having it evaluated by a very respected mechanic but he is retired now and I'm just not sure he is up for the work.
