WINDOW WIPES
« on: June 30, 2014, 03:39:48 PM »
Anybody on here know how to get the door windows down that extra inch to change the window wipes. Instruction with the wipes say to remove the rubber block at the bottom of the window tracks. I can't find the block or any thing else that keeps the window from going down that extra inch. Help me out guys and gals.

I noticed the same mistake in their instructions. There is no rubber block on Pinto's but there is in the Mustang, they must have just copied the Mustang instructions. You need to drill out the rivets that hold the regulator to the door frame. That should allow the window to drop enough, if not then you will need to remove the window from the regulator by drilling out those rivets. You can reinstall with small "stove bolts" and nuts or the stock body shop style rivets.

Was able to change the wipes out with out lowering the window. Wasn't much room, just enough to get them in. Looking good! One more step in the right direction.
