While I am at it, 74 front sheet metal on a 79?
« on: March 31, 2018, 03:42:44 AM »
At this point just tossing ideas around in my head. Don't know for sure I am even getting the 79.

Would a 74 front end (sheet metal) work on a 79? Hood, fenders, bumpers, etc. This includes using the 74 radiator support as the 79 is missing that and the inner fenders.

Throw in anything else you think would work from the 74. It's a wagon and the 79 is a hatchback, so doors and stuff won't work for sure.

Thanks,
Russ

Hi Russ!

I'm not saying this from personal experience, but I'm 99% sure the front sheet metal can be swapped.  It seems to me that someone had a thread on that here many moons ago!  You might try searching for it.

I think you are right.
I'm not sure at all what to do with this yet, so I am pretty much just thinking outloud.
I probably should go re read my old thread with the old 79, but that still hurts.
Thanks,
Russ
