Title: Where would you mount a CB RADIO?
Post by: mrmellowgold on November 19, 2013, 11:28:37 AM
I scored a killer wood-grain CB radio from a swap-meet. It matches the interior extremely well.

I just can not find a real goodplace to mount it. What do you guys think? What have you and or seen done? Or what would you do?

I mainly want it in there for looks to be honest....
It's a 73 wagon with AC in the dash.

Lemme know what you think! Thanks.

I had the same problem back in 1977 with my crusing wagon. Ended up mounting it between the seats on the tranny hump. Wasn't perfect but space in a pinto is limited and it did work.

Yeah, thats what i was considering. But i'm also going to install a mustang ii console sometime in the future so i might just wait and put it next the the A/C controls and slightly under the glove-box for the time being.

My dad put his in the jockey box in his 79 wagon.  He made a bracket and attached it to the bottom of the unit to keep it at an angle.  It just sat in there.

I've been batting this idea around, as well. I had considered modifying the 'console' (the trim thing under the radio panel), or just removing it and fabbing something to use as a trim plate. In the end, I can't decide, so my CB resides in the back floorboard. lol

Interested to see what you decide to do and how it works/looks for you.
