Title: What Ford steering wheels fit Pintos?
Post by: JohnW on June 13, 2012, 08:59:45 AM
Are there any more commonly available wheels that will fit the column and cancel the directionals? I want the center insert to make a Momo pattern wheel adapter, and it's hard to find Pinto parts up here as they've mostly been crushed. Ford pickups on the other hand are everywhere, so I'm hoping the steering wheels from them will work.

I know the older pickup steering wheels will work. I have one on my 77

It cancels the directionals and everything? I was figuring they would be close. There's tons in junkyards around here so I'm sure I can find a trashed wheel to cut up.

Yep, I never have had to cancel them myself. The steering wheel splines fit well to the column, horn contact & everything works like it should.

Awesome, thanks. I shouldn't have a problem finding a 73-79 F-series in a junkyard around here. I'll pull my wheel and take a picture before I go buy one at a junkyard as I don't know if they changed them during that gen at all. Probably not.

I just picked one up from around a '76 F100. It looks like it'll work well for making the adapter. I'll try to get some pictures up when I get to it.
