What are small bumpers worth
« on: August 29, 2015, 02:54:35 PM »
I can buy some small bumpers to pass on to a member here. What are used bumpers worth. Approximately what would you pay including shipping from Colorado? I just want to know if it would be worth my time.

I just got a NOS front bumper for my 73 on ebay for $75 and I think 25 in shipped with a best offer. They are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. I have a chrome bobcat bumper I plan on putting on my 79 that is also NOS and paid like $100 with shipping for that.

I will have a decent 73 pencil bumper someone can have if they pay the UPS store to package and ship it. Again, free.

So what's a used one worth? Condition is key. You need to post pics since your question is pretty ambiguous since nothing on condition is mentioned.

Here they are on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR2.TRC0.A0.H0.XPinto+bumper.TRS0&_nkw=Pinto+bumper&_sacat=0

Honestly, I don't know if they sell. But if I'm getting mine so cheap and doing offers, who knows. Compulsive buyers are there all the time :)

I have seen many post over the years from folks wanting the small bumpers. I like the big ones. I thought the smalls were in demand. It will be a lot of effort for me to get them. I wanted to help someone out, but it will be a 90 minute round trip, Then pack and ship. It may not be worth my time. If someone is desperate for these, send me a PM

I think everyone would appreciate it, I would if I couldn't find any new ones. The rears on there are are 150 though for a good pencil one. What do you want for one?

I've seen them go for $400.00

I have a couple sets & I plan on having them re-chromed.

NOS set I think I paid $300.00 ?

I would be interested but right now isn't the time financially.
I can't even afford Dianne's offer.
But there should be lots of people who want them on here.
Shipping might be the killer though.

I got 2 NOS rears for $50 each, one with holes & one smooth. I also got an NOS front with holes for $60 & a rechromed smooth front for $150. I still need another set for my 73 but it can run used ones.

I'll take it. It's one of the last things I need for that car to get it together. I'm not trying to make that one a show car, just a driver. Let me know what the shipping would be to Girard Ohio 44420. FedEx was the cheapest last time I sent a bumper out.

In my opinion, the price will vary if they are smooth or have holes for the rub strips.  In my experience the smooth bumpers are harder to find in good shape and are more desirable.

No, what I would do is bring them to a UPS store and you would work shipping with them and they would pack. If you want them, I would drop them off and you would pay packaging and shipping.

Sounds good. I've never done it that way but can't be too hard.
