1980 fuel tanks
« on: April 09, 2013, 02:28:13 PM »
I have a few questions about 1980 gas tanks. My hatchback has 4 torx screws holding on the fuel filler, my sedan delivery has only 3. (under the gas cap when you take it off). Also Summit racing says the fuel tanks they sell will fit both the hatchback and the wagon. I understand they are different tanks. I am doing tank work to start to drive my S/D this summer., which has a leaky tank. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I'm no expert but wagon tanks only fit wagons. Summit is mistaken.

Summit does not sell direct replacement gas tanks, for Pintos. They do sell fuel cells which are not gas tanks...I just checked and if you have a part number and or vendor number, list it...If your tank is leaking remove it and take it to a radiator shop that will work on gas tanks and have them fix it....It's not a real hard process either.
