Title: vinyl seats
Post by: JoeBob on October 12, 2013, 06:32:08 PM
I am heart broken,

Most of you have faced this already. My seat cracked today. I would like to fix it before it really goes to hell. There are a few sites on the net that claim NOS fabric. Mine is that strange glowing green with plaid inserts. It is a strange color. I doubt any other manufacture makes anything close. Anyone have experience with these NOS fabric people?
Thanks for input
Bill

I was able to get the correct color for mine (orange). Have them send you a sample and you will know for sure.

You can just spray paint your seats any color you like. I painted mine with a arisol can a paint and they came out nice. Actually I painted my entire interior and it all looks nice

Anyone have a source for OEM vinyl?

Try SMS Auto Fabrics.  I believe they're based out of Oregon.  http://www.smsautofabrics.com/index.php (http://www.smsautofabrics.com/index.php)

Never bought from 'em, but I did a search for a 1975 Ford (there isn't a way to specify model) and found vinyl and fabric swatches on the 5th page (if you specify 100 results per page, that is.)  There were a total of 630 fabric and vinyl samples for 1975 Fords.

PS - I read somewhere they're OEM, but a second glance at their website doesn't mention OEM anywhere.  Best bet would be to request a sample as an earlier poster suggested, and compare to your existing...hop e this helps!

I second SMS, I have been there a couple times as they are about 1 mile from where I currently work.  They have tons of different types of material.  I would request a sample and compare it to what you have before you make a purchase.
