Vinyl colors for 73 wagon
« on: November 06, 2013, 08:37:32 AM »
There is vinyl spray on Dearborn Classics. I'm not 100% of the factory color for the car.

http://www.dearbornclassics.com/car-care-protection-and-tools/paints/interior-paints-and-dyes.html

I see Ginger, is that the color?

I have to dye a Mustang II console for the wagon. THANKS DAVE!!!!

Thanks,

Dianne

Hope this helps.

Helps a LOT! So for me it looks like medium ginger. I'll need to call them and see if they have a medium. The dark ginger would probably be the metal in there I would think. Found this from a Mach I.

I think I need medium ginger and the metal looks like the dark ginger!

Thank you very much!

 BTW  'L' = Pinto and 'F' = mustang.
'73 would still be real mustang.

OK, I see my code of AF under IP only under Medium Ginger, but then that says I/C. So that would be Pinto console. So it was a medium ginger I guess.

As for a real mustang, they made the last real one in 1970. The 71 to 73 was a big boat. Mustang II was hummm you know, but I still love my 1978 King Cobra II better than the 71 to 73. Fox Bodies, not too much. New mustangs are OK, just seems like it would be owned by some old guy. (LOL, I am an old lady BTW).

Think I need Medium Ginger to match the small console to the Mustang II console. The body parts appear to be dark ginger. Am I really stupid or did I get it? LOL

I give up.

If you give up because I talked about Mustangs oh well.

I didn't know what L and F meant until you told me.

Sorry I don't understand " I give up."

I didn't understand the:

PLEASE look near the top of the page it shows what parts were painted what color then follow those 'keys' down.

I've never seen these before and that was ambiguous to me to be honest, could be me and me being too stupid or something.

I'll just call Dearborn tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience. .

If someone understands those codes and how they relate to below on that chart, it would be awesome if you tell me. Or if we want to make this a game, just give me better instructions and I'll try to figure it out on my own.

Sorry for being so stupid guys!

If I'm reading that chart correctly, and I may not be, it looks like you need dark ginger. Did Dearborn verify medium ginger?

I looked up the codes in my 1973 Ford Car Shop Manual and 5H...3564-A is Ginger Metallic (exterior). AF is Medium Ginger (interior) with Dallas/Corinth vinyl.  I hope this helps.  :)
