Sounds like a varient of the meguires vinyl and rubber protectent I have always used. Not to whiney, easy to apply, long lasting, and most importantly, protective!
On vinyl that me and my brother have used it on, it keeps it soft and plyable. On older "dry" vinyl, it seems to do an okay job at preventing further damage to already cracking vinyl. I use it in my 78 Sedan on the rear seat and the split at the top of the back cushion hasn't gotten any bigger since when I started using the stuff.
