The odds of finding an owner in US database for that old a car are........... .............. .....you'd have to be like FBI or Homeland Security.
-
Ask your DMV if they have Bonded Titles like here in Arizona.
-
Didn't realize you're dealing with Troop E and Lousyana. You can't file for a lost or missing title? Back in 2000 I lived in So. Grant and tried to title and register a 1923 Ford "T Bucket" with an Arizona title. I know the frustration, I had to deal with Troop E inspectors. What a joke. I wish you luck.

they giving me a run around saying I gotta get the last owner to file for the title.which is kinda hard with them being 6 feet under ground
-
not sure how they do it there, but a friend of mine that owns a towing and wrecker service has been able to file for a clear title for me for cars i have bought with no/ lost titles - may be a way for you if you know some one that owns a garage or towing service!!!
