valve cover/breather question
« on: December 11, 2015, 08:15:44 AM »
hey pinto folks , i just bought a valve cover to move the breather cap from the rear to the front.  Problem is the breather hole is different.  My original '74 has the metal rolled into the hole as you can see in the pic...and the new valve cover ('85) does not have the metal rolled down in the hole.  What kind of breather cap does this take?  and anyone have a pic of the breather I need?  will the cap have a hose attachment?...which I do not want.

do you have a pic of yours?  does the "newer style" have a hose attached?   ....from what I can tell looking at advance auto's site, the one that fits the later valve cover is more of a "cap" with a hose coming out of it.  I need a breather cap and no hose.

could not find a newer style breather cap without a hose..so the next best thing...modifi ed it to accept a push style cap.  I flush welded a collar in to accept the rubber bushing and got a chrome breather.  Works great.
