Title: Using Wider Tires
Post by: From_Jonah on January 20, 2013, 06:06:51 PM
I'm picking up some 15x8 wheels this week and I'm wanting to put a wider tire on the rear. What is the widest tire that I'm gonna be able to fit on it without it scrubbing?

they can scrub on hard cornering but mine is made to go straight..... not for corner carving....if you roll the fender lip it wont scrub at all....

I don't remember the dimensions, but rims and tires off of a 2000's Merc Cougar will rub the rear leaf springs...trus t me.

I wouldn't go too much wider than a 275 width on an 8 inch rim. You will start to get balloned sidewalls & that kills handling around corners.
