using mustang wheelhouse as patch panels?
« on: February 07, 2013, 05:13:58 PM »
Has anyone rebuild the outer wheelhouse of a pinto? I'm wondering if the repo panels for early mustang can be used in sections to get the correct curvature.

Parts can be found on eBay or any of the people here. You might be able to get close and then massage them if you get the Mustang II parts. Note any other Mustang IE 1979 and up will not work, 1963 to 1973 will not work 1974 -1978 maybe.

Modest beginnings start with the single blow of a horn man..    Now when you get through with this thing every dickhead in the world is gonna wanna own it.   Do you know anything at all about the internal combustion engine?

Thanks for the replies. What I meant was not the quarter itself, but the inner wheel well behind the quarter lip above the tire. I do not see these available as reproductions. The early mustangs have these available in two pieces and I thought the outer piece may be able to be sectioned and used as patch panels for the pinto. I know the wheel well is much larger on the pinto, but again as smaller pieces and trimming the actual curvature may be close. Has anyone done this or rebuilt an inner wheelwell by other means?

If your going to do that yes...That's going to be your cheapest option I'm afraid....But they should be cheaper because they are so common now. Hell you can buy  almost complete bodies in the 1963-1967 etc. With a will, hammer, M.I.G.and saws-all etc there always is a way...
