turbo ranger stumble off idle and at 5psi?
« on: March 28, 2015, 12:58:01 PM »
Have timing set at 10*
new knock sensor
new IAC
inline electric pump- plenty of pressure at fuel rail.

Motor idles well but will buck under just open throttle.
will run and build boost well under quarter throttle until just at 5psi
then it starts the same fall on face loss of power and bucking.

any ideas on cause? possible bad wastegate blowby?
vacuum leak?

Well it ended up being the wastegate actuator.

The motor actually had a tiny little Warner Ishi turbo on it so that wasnt helping it at all either. We replaced it with a Garrett T3 and it runs fine now. Just have a bit of detonation at 15psi but we will get that straightened out soon.
