Title: Transporting a Pinto
Post by: JonzWagon on September 14, 2012, 03:16:59 AM
I wanted to ask a question about shipping my Pinto from So. Cal. to North Carolina. I have checked on line and found a whole bunch of carriers out there with prices from "not so bad" to thousands of dollars more than my car is worth.  Has anyone had a good experience with a carrier? Or can you recommend a carrier? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know its just a Pinto but it means as much to me as if it was a Corvette or a Cobra. Thanks for reading this.......... ...John

John, I was going to have one shipped from AZ to Houston TX.... 700 bucks. But when it came time for the shipping they didn't even have a carrier set up. Be sure when setting up shipping that your car is not put into a pool of maybe carriers and it is a dedicated carrier service. Allot of theses transporters are just brokers and no actual carriers.

I work over seas so my time is very limited in regards to dates and such while I'm home.

Do like me and make a great road trip out of it with your own car hauler. Memories last for ever. Also, be ready to be held up at anytime with the... Can I look at it, and I had one before stories.

I didn't mind it... Heck that is one reason that I purchased it in th first place.

Good Luck with it.
