It would be a shame for it to go under. I've noticed, as well as others have noticed that people flock more to facebook. I hit them both. I been a member since 2004 and don't plan to leave the site as long as it exists.

Would be awesome if Scott could do that several times a year ?

Love this site ! I still root around looking for info !

There is no denying that Facebook has hurt us.  Personally, I fail to see the appeal there because all posts here are archived and always accessible, but it certainly attracts a lot of people.  Both posting and new member sign-ups are actually up a bit from a year ago, but still lagging from our pre-Facebook days.  I don't think we're in any danger of going under so long as the administrative team is committed to keeping it alive.  We operate on a pretty tight budget so more Charter Memberships would help with associated costs but, as always, that is optional.  Other than that, as Dick suggested above, keep posting so we stay relevant.

The only thing I like about Facebook is the fact that people are on there, and respond to posts, the way it was on here before. Occasionally I think I see a tumbleweed go by, and it's like a ghost town. There is also ease of accessibility. I'm on Facebook daily so it's easier at times. But I do like to take a trip down memory lane and see where we've been, or more accurate where I've been from my first 1978 Runabout to my current 1980 Runabout, not forgetting my beloved Harold II, who I held on to for three years after getting the 80. Perhaps there can be some way to integrate facebook in this site to help it be a more unified community..... Slightly off topic, but just popped in my head.

That was Scott's original intention but he never found a way to make it work.

I'll second the part about the city and state and have stated so before. This is the only site I belong to that don't show the location. I look at each and every name that's new for somebody close by.

My old friend Dick is right on target. I myself am guilty of reading the site every day, but rarely posting. Also Dick consider running The Lake Garnett GP Revival  ( Garnett KS. ) in mid Oct. Its not that far from your diggs. I run it every year since it restarted in 2015

You really should post more often. I know you have much to offer and your story's about the ole days are great. Don't think I'll go to Garnett or anywhere since I'm pretty well stuck in my home right now. Maybe when it gets cooler. Need about one week to finish my Pinto.

Dick,

I  will again enter the Almost Famous Racing Pinto at  Granett, and try to keep my record of winning the under 2 litre class intact.

( Last year a guy with an ex Don Devendorf Datsun  would not race.  cause , I was too aggressive. )  Pinto' s are meant to  win and should be driven to win.

I seem to remember seeing the  Devendorf 510 Datsun at Sears Point  in the '80's ( took a pic of the back of the car) The fuel cell had the Words "Get Hosed" !  Maybe,  if this is the same car and driver, maybe he was provoking Pinto racers, or had a Alfa issue stuck in his Head! ( see this months Classic Motorsports magazine for reference)

Devendorf has to be very old or dead I would think. I raced against him in the Trans-am at Hallet in 73 or 74. He was older than me at that time. Then in 91 I was racing up north and there was a Devendorf 18 wheeler that was selling tires at the track. I ask the crew and they said he was retired at that time. Long time ago in a land far away.

It wasn"t Devendorf himself, just one of his old cars. I really was hoping he would race not stay in the paddock, cause I wanted to take on the car.

Couple times in the far past I had to start in the rear. It was really fun to pass cars left and right on my way forward. I didn't win but I really had fun. Try that next time he shows up.
