Title: To: 2.3 Pinto oil pan and pickup needed (make sure you know)
Post by: Wittsend on January 07, 2013, 05:11:21 PM
Since you posted in the READ ONLY Classifieds I am starting this post for an FYI not only for this request but any other that may be similar.

If you wind up having to pull the pan and pick-up yourself - be prepared.  One of the two bolts has obstructions that get in the way - even with a swivel socket.  Also, most I've seen use a  star type bolt. It's been a while and I can't recall if it is internal or external.  Maybe someone with more recent experience can alert you.

You would hate to go to all the trouble to pull the pan only to find that issue hanging you up.

Most I've seen take a 8mm 12 point socket to remove the pick up. Just remove the pump and pick up together. JT
