Are wanting and alarm or something that will disable the vehicle so it can't be started?

Hi Dianne,

I would choose between the Viper and Crime Stopper.  Both have been around a long time.  Alarms are not hard to install and you will have a lot of unused features, but there are some cool features that you might like to include beyond just having a siren and starter kill.  You could add door lock actuators to either one door, or both to lock/unlock them with the key fob.

Thanks Dennis! That would be awesome to have a lock opener!

Is this a good one? I don't understand 1 way and 2 way. Don't think I care about 2 way if it's what I think it is. This say it has keyless entry, but I don't see a confirmation on the listing. Is this a good one?

Hi Dianne,

That is a very good alarm.  I includes the starter kill relay.  You will need 2 more relays and a relay harness if you want to add door lock actuators.  Another plus is Viper alarms have great tech support to help you install your alarm correctly.  One way communication is the Key fob talks to the alarm brain, but the alarm brain can't talk back to tell you of a break in.  Two way is where the key fob can receive a signal from the alarm brain telling you that your alarm has been set off.

Best regards,

Dennis

Hmmm, that's the one with the LED. I break stuff in my purse honestly - guns rattling round in there and stuff. The one way should be good enough I would think!

I see the hardness for the keyless entry on there for like $43 shipped. Can always do that later. Not certain how it works, have to watch youtube or some research I guess.

Thanks a million.

Hi Dianne,

The price for the keyless entry is very high.  I have a friend who owns a car stereo store in Scottsdale Az.  His number is 480-303-0033.  His name is Don.  He is a Viper dealer and carries all of the parts you would need.  Just tell him that you know me, Dennis Barnes, and he will make you a good deal as well as give you good service.  He can also possibly provide the wiring connections color code of your Pinto.

Best regards,

Dennis

The wireless key entry isn't something I'm going to do now, needs actuators because it's not electric. Honestly, just wanted a simple alarm. Just going to get that one I saw and put that in, or something even simpler LOL

I do want to say thank you for all the help!

Its really not a very big deal to buy a specific alarm as if there are really very helping instructions to install the alarm but what matters is the quality and the ease of use of the product. And if I'll go with one of the product then it would be he Viper and Crime Stopper since I'm currently using he Viper and its working fine.

Yeah, but totally different animal though, ;) I like shotguns for alarms, matter of preference I guess.

You are correct. An intruder knows the sound of a pump action shotgun. I do have one close by at night. Although, when someone tried kicking down my door once, the first thing that I did was pick up my Ruger P-90 on my nightstand, call 911 and walked the house with the sheriff on the 911 call.

If someone comes into Idaho to commit a crime, they are in trouble LOL Honestly, this is off-topic but funny ;)
