Tank Straps

I have a new gas tank. I'm trying to take out the tank straps to clean the up or replace, The are fighting me is there any trick to getting them off,

Lots of penetration oil, let it soak in , you might have to use a small wire brush to remove the rust on the threads if you have a lot of rust on them , use a deep socket on the nut and a long nose vice grips close to tab where the nut is , yep they are a pain when rusty

Thanks Got the nuts off,  what about the other end that goes in the slot in the frame, I move the strap to the top but wont come out.
