T-bird TC rear disk brakes
« on: September 15, 2003, 12:15:02 AM »
OK i've had an idea, will the rear disks on an 87-88 T-bird Turbo bolt to a pinto axle?
i understand that i'll need the caliper brackets, E-brake hardware, proportioning valve, master cylinder, ETC.
All I'm sure of is that they share a 4 on 4 1/4" bolt pattern for the lugs. but are the mounting flanges the same (or close enough to make steel adapters)

Well I'm guessing that they don't work and that it was a stupid question LOL

But seriously i have access to an 88tc rolling(and rolled) chassis complete with the brakes, and wheels
i'd have to buy the whole car just to find out if the rear brakes fit, so if anyone knows PLEASE let me know before they scrap it

Yes.. they will work. I have not done this myself, but I have see many Pintos that have. If you have heard of Joe Morgan...his pinto was in Hot Rod and he has them on his. Go to www.turboford. org and you can find out more about the swap there.
