Title: T Bird seats in a Pinto
Post by: dick1172762 on March 09, 2015, 10:10:07 AM
Has anybody on here used T Bird turbo coupe seats in their Pinto? If so, what problems did you run into? Pictures please. Thanks!

Been there, done that - with pictures!  One thing I didn't mention in the link is that the seat width is pretty tight. I have the side bolsters cranked in all the way. To quote a woman on an exercise equipment commercial of long ago, "I have the butt of a 19 year old." So, I can get away with it.  The tightness (ahhh, the seat, not my butt) also makes getting the seatbelt pulled around a bit difficult. The retractor is marginal and I just throw the belt on the seat.  Otherwise the installation is as easy as I state in the post below.

Thanks Wittsend! Looks easy enough that a poor Vega owner could do it.

Oh, and for the record my seats were from an '88 Turbo Coupe. I'm not sure if other years might have had different seats. Lastly, I have a tilt column from the Turbo coupe also. I have it in the full up tilt (midget racer/city bus) position. So, thigh and stomach clearance are not issues. But, what would you expect what with having, "a butt like a 19 year old."  LOL
