73 2.0 head specs
« on: October 06, 2017, 02:46:49 AM »
Does anyone know the height (thickness from block mating surface to cam cover mating surface ) of a stock, unmilled 2.0 cylinder head? I'm having a valve job done on a used head of unknown history and was wondering how much I can take off, not knowing if it has already been milled.

Btw, I know that milling the head can affect the cam timing and am using a custom cam and adjustable cam pulley .. so ill just be adjusting the cam for best performance.

Im also using stock 8.1:1 pistons so valve clearance wont be a problem.

look at: http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?t=157988

94,9mm = 3 47/64 inch, I've seen 94,8 and 95 mentioned elsewhere, so pretty much in the ballpark?

Thanks...

I have 3 heads total, one good, the others not good...  measured them all and the one with the biggest gap between the spark plug hole and the lower surface measures 95, its cracked and no good but i think its stock..

I guess the stock height must be 94.8-95. That will get me close enough to judge how much the good head has  been cut..
