Knew "rag joint".

What I need is the steel type u-joint. They are smaller around & will give me more clearance for the clutch cable into the Quick Time bell housing.
Thanks though !

You will need the OD  and spline count on the rack end. It looks like you have a manual rack, so it should be 9/16 -26. The power rack is 3/4-36.
The shaft should be a 3/4 inch double d. AKA - DD     On mine the 'flat' is .581 and the round is .746
I have some charts for those type of joints, but I still can't figure how to post an image on here. Also, Moog has a detailed chart for coil springs. I'll try to PM you a link to that.

Up-date.
Sent pictures to the go to sped shop up here (Mopac in Edmonton) & they couldn't find one.
New pics below.
Rack shaft is 9/16" x 26 spline.
Steering shaft is 3/4" wide & single D.
Over the next days I'll try & find at the places mentioned.
In the mean time, if anyoe finds one please let me know. Limit on my time when away working.

Just for the heck of it, call flaming river to see if they can help. They deal in Pinto/Mustang II steering normally for Hot Rods.

We always use a 9/16 for the manual rack end,Reeve.

This one has the most clearance,

Racer - the 3/4" end of that one is a double D. See my pictures above. I found lots of those up here. Did you mod the steering end to make them fit ?

Sedan - Thanks - I'll call them next time I am off work early.

Flaming River didn't work. To order you have to "join" that site & it will not let me. Tried at least 10 times to order & it will not work. They made it very hard to order parts.
Due to what I'm working & in a no cell service area, I cannot call them during the day.

Got it. But I didn't take into account the length.

The distance between the rack & steering rod is too close for it to fit. I do not think I have ever had a steering column out, so have no idea if it will collapse/push in enough for the U-joint to fit ?
Anyone done this ?

Does your car still have the original column with flex shaft? I'm thinking you need to swap in a later column with a solid shaft, then you can add in u-joints starting near the firewall and route around whatever you need.

I still have the flex shaft.
Reason I wanted the U-Joint was for more clutch cable clearance, by/at the rag joint.
I have the Quick Time bell.

I came up with another idea for motor mounts. They will be a semi solid type, so more cable clearance may not be required now. I'll see after the new mounts are made.
