You must make sure the configuration and bend and plug-in of the part match what needs to be there, much more important than any 'tangs'. Also, I haven't been there in a while but looking online shows no tangs on the part at all, rather a round disk that has a ring over the top. Regardless, tangs are easily modified if you cannot find correct part. The sending unit must use correct volts as well, it is a resistor that matches to the gauge so more room for error than you think. The tangs are not the major issue there although they may indicate where you should go.
For $75+ bucks I'd be looking to just modify the sending unit resistor and nothing else. I've done it on other cars for $10 before. The actual resistor costs maybe $2 there......... .........and the rest is simply a pipe with a filter on the end.
