Big yellow wire is hot all the time. I ran it to the hot wire
stud on the alternator on mine. I just did this a couple of
weeks ago, and it has been working fine. I checked this
out on my 01 Ranger before I did it. I don't know where it
gets its power from on the Ranger, but I know it is HOT all
the time. I think I may go back and put a fusable link in as
I think it may be on a fused circuit on the Ranger. For sure
it is HOT all the time, as is the wire on the stud, witch goes
directly to the BATTERY. The green/red stripe wire goes to
the exciteter and needs to be HOT when the ignition is in the
run position. It's a real simple system and works really well.
Sorry to be so LONG.
