I need some advice. I want to sell my wagon's tank. I am going to be doing something different. I would like to know what I am getting into before listing it for sale.
Anyway, I have no clue about shipping something like that.
My first concern is safety/legality. This is a used tank afterall, and has some serious varnish fumes. It has been sitting in the sun the last couple of days and the smell seems to be lessening, but how do people ship these sorts of things? And what issues do the shippers have with something like this?
I don't have the money to take it and have it boiled out, is there anything I can do for free or extremely cheap to clean it out some that would help?
Packaging? When I bought a new tank for my late lamented Lemans, it just came in a cardboard box with a tiny bit of foam wrapped around the tank. Is that considered ok?
How do you price shipping for something like this? I don't even have a bathroom scale to weigh it.
Any other things I may not be considering here? If this gets too complicated I will have to just forget about it.
Thanks,
Russ
