1. Will 1994 mustang Gt seats fit in my 1980 wagon?

2. Is Castrol gtx a good oil for an older engine?

I put my '88 Turbo coupe seats in which appear on the narrower side for modern seats - LOL 29 year old seats "modern". Anyway even with the side bolsters retracted fully inward it takes an extra tug on the door to get it closed as they need to compress slightly. The other problem is there is virtually no "hand room" to access the seat belt. Throw in the old school retractor and just getting one's self seatbelted becomes an art form.

Thanks for the advise. Other option is get the stock seats re upholstered. $$$

Last set I got was about $50 at Pick Your Part's 40% off sale. Then comes the mounting... . The T/C seat I just adapted the Pinto tracks. The T/C electric set up hit the floor before the mount was near a mounting point. I love the seats in my T/C when it was my daily driver, but in the Pinto they fell different. Oh well, they were free (and at least the seat tilts back now).

The only drawback is I had to fabricate a bracket to relocate the seat track on the passenger side, due to the transmission tunnel. They worked and looked good but only after reworking a little bit. Any seat should be able to fit with modification, provided the dimensions of the seat fit the space in the car but it's all with modifications to either the car and/or seat.

Post by: 1972 Wagon on October 01, 2017, 06:53:47 PM: My Pinto has seats from an old Escort. The Escort brackets matched the Pinto's original bolt holes. I can't remember exactly what year the Escort was but I would say early 80's.
