mine stays on too. (if that's what the problem is.) what I did was plug in a dummy seatbelt clip that came outof a ford truck. when I need the seat belt, I unplug the dummy clip and fasten the seat belt.

Mine is right above the glove box beside the flasher, a little brown plastic box with a round speaker grill...
