Title: Restoring Pinto Emblem Colors
Post by: Henrius on August 12, 2014, 12:35:32 PM
As happens in most emplems, the red and blue wore off of my "Pinto" medallions. Can't find anyone restoring them, so I was going to do it myself. Thinking aobut using red and blue model plane enamel, but  anyone else got other ideas? Don't think body shop would mix up such small quantities of paint, and I would have to brush it on anyway.

You can use almost any good paint, model paint is ok, mask it carefully and when done hit it with clearcoat spray to preserve it. Make sure the spray you use is compatible. I painted the trim on my Nash (no kidding) with regular red paint and it held up for years after.
