Replacing the seal on a sunroof
« on: September 11, 2013, 09:04:02 PM »
My Pinto has a factory sunroof that leaks. I've cleaned the drains but still water comes in. Where can I get the proper rubber seal to replace the 40 year old one in place now? Any special instructions for doing this job?

Do you have a crank back or the popout moon roof?  I am guessing crank back due if you are referring to your 75 in your signature.

Since you didn't say what year or what type of roof you have I'll post what I have found.
The part w/red is available (1) for a built before 10/1/76 w/o vinyl roof. (68" long)
The green is available (listed as rear rubber w/o steel insert, 33" long)

Where on earth did you find that diagram??? Not in the factory service manuals!! That is exactly the sunroof my 1973 has. Where can I get these parts, especially the seal market #1??
1973 Pinto Runabout with upgraded 2.0 liter & 4 speed, and factory sunroof. My first car, now restored, and better than it was when it rolled off the assembly line!
