Wagon roof strip fasteners
« on: June 22, 2013, 12:37:13 AM »
I have the strips and rubber for my 73 wagon roof but need whatever sort of clip was used to hold the trim on. There are pins on the roof in the center of rectangular bare spots in the paint that must have been where the clips went.

Anyone know what I'm looking for and where I could find them?

thanks

The Ford part number is  D1FZ6246004A  They are available at several obsolete parts places. I got mine from Green Sales in Ohio.

 You're welcome.
I don't know if you have the upper aka 'chrome' strips removed or not from the base metal strip. But you need to mount the base rubber & metal strips first with the the retainer clips & then the 'chrome' strips go on.

Oops. Sounds like I'm missing the base metal strips. All I have is the Chrome and the rubber. Are the strips available?

Someone may have 'snapped' the chrome pieces back onto the base metal. If all you have are light weight chrome strips then you will need the base's
If your rubber strips look like this

Yep that's what the rubber strips look like and the strips are just the light weight pieces with nothing inside. Looks like the beginning of a parts search adventure.

If they look like that you will need the base's. From what I tell some take 3 like my '76 but some require 4
I could only locate 5 of them in the U.S. PM me if you want more info.

I just looked and I have three complete strips.  They are either from a 77 or 78, i believe.  No rubbers.
