Need help with engine building

I am building a MGTD using a Pinto drivetrain.  Have a later model block (88 on) and a 79 pinto head.  Block and head were just rebuilt.  Using a different block and head is causing some issues beyond my capability (fuel pump, dip stick placement, etc) so I am trying to find someone in the Jacksonville area to complete the build. 

Thanks for any help you can provide

There should be little or no issues putting the engine and head together, however the first step is most important. Ensure that the engine is set with the Piston number 1 at top dead center ( check the timing mark on the crank pulley or remove the pulley and there should be a little arrow and grove in the inner timing cover line up or ensure that the woodruff key is at 12 o clock. For the head spin the cam shaft bolt until the mark on the cam is centered on the pointer ( both marks can be hard to see the cam mark is a small O on the rim of the cam before the timing belt groves).As for the fuel pump you should just have to remove the two bolts from the cover and install the pump. What kind of oil pan did the MGTD have a front sump or a rear sump ? Check with any of the MG boards for more info this swap is not a rare item. There is a way to  find the dip stick hole, look for the FP that is cast into the block you will have to remove the PCV and hose off of the crank case breather assembly .And then look straight  down ,that's where  the front hole is . To move the dip stick around,  remove the oil pan and than use a bolt that is smaller than hole to drive out the plug, note do not use a pin punch or you will bend the plug.

If you end up wanting local help, try the "Member Map" for possible local members.  Jacksonville is also home to the Walsh family business "Racer Walsh".  They started out specializing in the Ford four's but have since expanded out some.  I do not know what services they offer now, but a phone call couldn't hurt.

Thanks for the responses.  The engine has a front sump but the block I have doesn't have a front dip stick plug or hole.  It is a later model block.  It also does not have a cutout for the mechanical fuel pump which is why i assume i will need an electric one.  I will try the member map and Racer Walsh to see if i find someone here in Jacksonville.

Im down here in Orange City Florida..
My block had the same problem with the fuel pump hole and oil dip stick hole..
I made a jig to open up the fuel pump hole and just located the oil dip stick hole and drill it...
I know it maybe an hour or so drive for you but if you want to head down here I will help you out with it.
